# Connections

> Configure the external services your Ryvn organization uses

Connections let you reuse provider configuration across installations and variable groups.

    The CLI lists Infisical, GCP Secret Manager, Temporal, and Grafana connections. Follow the provider guides below for setup commands. GitHub App installation uses the dashboard and GitHub.

You need permission to manage integrations to create or change connections. If you can view a connection but cannot see its setup controls, ask an organization administrator to grant the appropriate access.

## Connections and variable groups

For secret providers, configure the connection first, then [import a variable group](/docs/configure/variable-groups#sync-from-external-sources). The connection supplies access to the provider. The imported group selects the secrets and the Ryvn environment that receives them.

Test secret-provider connections after setup or credential rotation. A successful connection test does not guarantee that every secret can be read; also check the imported group's sync status and warnings.
